Established in 2009, the Illini Veterans began with three student veterans from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and has grown to over 400 members. The organization, which is a chapter of the Student Veterans of America, helps student veterans develop a social and professional network, share veteran-related information, and make their voices heard in the community. Our goal is to integrate student veterans into the community and assist them in the transition from military to student life. The IIlini Veterans agree that the best way to give back to the community and its family of veterans is by supporting those veterans seeking a higher education. We feel a need to give back to the community that has fostered our educational and personal development, and we want to continue to support our fellow veterans.
